Sprouting Minds provides psychoeducational and psychological evaluations for children ages five and older, adolescents, and young adults. Evaluations may address concerns related to learning disabilities, dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning, academic achievement, cognitive abilities, and social-emotional or behavioral functioning.

Families may also consider an evaluation when there are concerns about attention, executive functioning, memory, processing speed, or other factors that may be interfering with learning and academic success.

An evaluation can help determine whether an underlying learning disability, ADHD, or other area of difficulty may be contributing to these concerns. It can also provide a clearer understanding of an individual’s strengths and challenges, helping families and schools identify appropriate strategies, interventions, accommodations, and supports.

ADHD can affect attention, impulse control, activity level, organization, working memory, and other aspects of executive functioning. Because difficulties in these areas can also be associated with learning disabilities, anxiety, emotional concerns, sleep difficulties, and other factors, a comprehensive evaluation can help clarify what may be contributing to an individual’s symptoms.

A psychoeducational evaluation considers information from multiple sources, which may include cognitive and academic testing, measures of attention and executive functioning, behavioral observations, developmental and educational history, and rating scales completed by parents, teachers, or the individual being evaluated. Considering these findings together helps determine whether a pattern of difficulties is consistent with ADHD, identify any co-occurring learning or emotional concerns, and develop individualized recommendations for appropriate supports and interventions.

A private evaluation can provide valuable information to help schools understand a student’s strengths, challenges, and educational needs; however, a diagnosis or disability identified through a private evaluation does not automatically qualify a student for special education services or accommodations.

The evaluation may help clarify a student’s strengths and needs and provide recommendations for appropriate interventions, accommodations, and supports. However, school teams are responsible for making their own determinations regarding eligibility for special education services, Section 504 accommodations, and other school-based supports.

Sprouting Minds does not participate with health insurance and payment is due at the time services are provided. Depending on your individual plan and the reason for the evaluation, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

Upon request, we can provide documentation that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Because coverage varies by plan, we encourage families to contact their insurance provider directly to ask about out-of-network benefits for psychological or psychoeducational testing.
